17 days sober
Hi everybody, I was posting here before my birthday(nov 13) I went a little off track for my birthday, drank a lil but when I saw how well i did by not getting drunk I thought i could do it again the following monday, big mistake!!! I got so drunk and had such a horrible hangover!! I am now sober 17 days and it is no easier this time than any of the other times I have tried to quit and failed but I can only have faith in my effort, ya know? I am determined that this "time" be the last time. Keep me in ya'll prayers. I hope everyone is doing good with there struggles . Stay strong.

Dee, I have been doing that merry go round for too long. I know what you mean it is not easy to stop once you get started again. I start drinking and I am right back into it up to my neck. I guess the trick is to stop for good. I have not been able to do that yet. I am not giving up giving up. I have a few days under my belt since the last time I made the very bad choice to drink. Every day I get to make the a choice. Today I am glad I will be making the choice to abstain. Great work on those 17 days. I will be looking foward to reading about your journey to sobriety. Good luck have a great day TGIF yea.
Dee hello! and welcome! Happy late birthday & great going on your 17days off !

Good for you, Dee. You sound like you're really ready to stay sober this time. I really recommend AA. Have you gone to a meeting? Going to meetings, getting a sponsor and working the steps have been the only way for me to stay sober and learn how to live life without drugs or alcohol. There is a lot of support out there that is freely given. I hope you take advantage of it for yourself.
