14 days no drinking-Update
So it has now been two weeks since I have had alcohol.
The last time I drank was the night the governor shut down the bars here so that has made it a bit easy.
I did go out a few times to restaurants and the grocery store and was only slightly tempted.
I don't tend to drink at home much at all and with most things being closed that has been helpful.
For those that remember, I did go back to my bar the next day and the first thing the bartender said was did you forget something. He had my wallet safe and secure for me. Also no lasting damage to my leg/knee other than a couple days of soreness.

Hi Jim, well done on the 20 days and pleased you got your wallet back. One night years ago I got smashed and had to get a taxi home, don't remember the journey and lost my wallet and my work laptop. It took some explaining. So glad that I don't drink anymore. Keep going. You have proven to yourself that it can be done.
congratulations on 2 weeks. I’m heading into month 7 soon. If you continue to push through you will end up where I am. I don’t have to try as much anymore as things are staring to flow. It does take time but I wouldn’t trade where I am now for anything. Keep going and never forget what alcohol did to you. Forgetting how bad it was and then trying to moderate seems to be the thing that ruins recovery for a lot of people. Let’s stay strong together.
Just finished day 27. Probably my longest streak in a year. Was doing 50/50 on off. It was miserable. Kindling, withdrawals etc. Feeling decent and don’t want to go through it again. I’m working on programming my brain that alcohol tastes terrible. I go out with the wife and she orders wine. I just look at it and my brains says that tastes awful. It’s working. Took my son out and he ordered a beer. Same thing. I don’t say it out loud. Just to myself.
I have hemochromatosis too. So it’s a faster death sentence for me if my iron keeps spiking. A miserable existence and death if you get cirrhosis. Plus you have to worry about cancer, kidney disease etc.
Hang in there. It’s definitely worth it.
