10 years sober
 

For a change I'm gonna heap some praise on myself. I did it. I'm the one who got up every day and diverted my attention away from having another drink. I'm genuinely proud of myself I can honestly say. And I'm going to heap some praise on SoberRecovey as well. I'm truly grateful you are here. This is where I have spent 1000's of hours of my time and it worked. I would rather be here than in a bar. I probably should spend more time in the mental health forums but I live in the Newcomers to Recovery forum. Can't remember how many times I have relived the torment of day1,2,3. It's frightening, terrible, but I briefly do it and it's kept me from drinking all these years I love you all and thanks you for being here. Congratulations on 10 years of sobriety! It's very inspirational to read about people reaching such massive milestones.

You should be quite proud of yourself, Michael. You pulled yourself out of the depths of hell and put in the work. Never missed a meeting and helped others along the way. I'm very proud of you for celebrating 10 years, I know at times it wasn't easy.

10 yrs of many one days sober/clean is a huge achievement and
personal accomplishment for yourself. The old you is in the past
while the new, healthy, happy, you is present. Here and now.
