Day 700
I looked at my calendar, and today is day 700 of not drinking. This is a difficult time for the country, and it would be easy to slip. One thing that has helped me is that I realize I don't want to go back where I was. It is important to remember how bad things got, and how grateful that those days are past. I hope that others that are struggling know that you CAN put one foot in front of the other and get away from alcoholism. I recently found out an old friend had a stroke, no doubt brought on by his drinking. Take the step to stop today. Take care of yourself, and keep trying! Best wishes on your recovery.
Congratulations on 700 days of recovery. Fantastic!
And, I don't want to go back to those days either. If this pandemic had happened while I was drinking, my thought would have been, 'Well, yes I'm drinking. What else can I do?" And, of course there are so many other things I can do.
