Binge Drinker and Sex Addict

Hey, I'm new here. I'm in my early 20's - I'm a binge drinker and sex addict. I stopped drinking 92 days ago but as of Sunday, I've found that I'm craving alcohol more than I ever have in these last 3 months.

I've never tackled my alcohol addiction before and today is the first day I'm coming out with my sex addiction. The shame and humiliation feels unsurmountable.

Welcome, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. We are addicts but we are good people and our addictions can be healed.

It's not surprising that you're experience more cravings. Recovery is not usually a straight line. The thing is to be prepared for when cravings come along. It's good to have a plan for what you will do when a craving hits.

I was usually so drunk and on so many drugs, I couldn't have sex. I couldn't even feel my legs. Welcome to the site!

Welcome to SR, and congrats on your 92 days. You can quit your addictions but if you're like most of us, those demons will always be nearby and waiting to pounce on a weakness. The key is to not let it. Easier said than done, but folks in sobriety succeed. You can too.

92 days is absolutely fantastic! I would recommend the forums here and also some meetings for support...support is so great during recovery. Lots of online meetings right now, too
