Excellent. I would like some biscuits, please and thank you, andy. I still haven't resorted to online shopping, for all the reasons. I have been less than thrilled with my homemade bandana face masks. They just don't stay put. Two months is the quoted delivery on regular surgical masks, though. I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet. Waiting for the "Mandatory Mask" order. Which I am absolutely sure is going to happen. We just can't slow the new cases by enough - even with the STAY HOME- 6 FEET DISTANCE! order. That no one obeyed. |

Re: Beach Barbecue Sober weekend - Weekenders 24 - 27 April 2020 ANZAC day is a big deal in Australia. Many link a growing national identity to the terrible events that occurred at Gallipoli on that date. ANZAC stands for Australian, New Zealand Army Core. Biscuits of the same name were made with very basic ingredients (rationing) and sent to serving soldiers in was zones from back home. Nearly all towns, big and small have memorials and there has been a growing resurgence to remembering the ANZAC legacy. Our prime minister referred to the 'Anzac Spirit' in encouraging us all to adhere to the restrictions in this COVID pandemic. |
Re: Beach Barbecue Sober weekend - Weekenders 24 - 27 April 2020 Hi again barbeque beauties, I hope someone's saved me a burnt sausage ( I only like them burnt). It will go nicely with my cup of tea. Our B & Q is only open for 'click & collect' or home delivery as yet Mantalady, we can't browse or buy there. I managed to get a couple of boxes of pansies though when I was buying essentials at B & M. I can't post pics yet either Kaily, or I couldn't this morning. I love Afie I'm off to make some coffee if any of you want one. Back soon, take care xxx |

Re: Beach Barbecue Sober weekend - Weekenders 24 - 27 April 2020 Anzac Day always reminds me of the Anzac biscuits our Kathy (Gilmer) made for us all. Yummy. Daisy, your garden will look amazing with all the tending and love you have given it. :) Suze I love your gingerbread house! Andy, oops! There’s some good naan bread recipes that don’t use yeast! Oooh and there’s a fabulous coconut bread recipe that doesn’t use yeast either! https://i.postimg.cc/Fz8XXWPN/BEE570...A946-C5798.jpg |
Re: Beach Barbecue Sober weekend - Weekenders 24 - 27 April 2020 I did think of Kathy yesterday :yup: D |
Re: Beach Barbecue Sober weekend - Weekenders 24 - 27 April 2020 When I was very young we used to get sent biscuits and other treats from Australia by my great grandmother Goodie. Apparently this started way back in WW2 when us Brits had little to eat. She was quite a character and was host of her own radio show in Australia from the 1920s onwards (the Goodie Reeve show). There is a famous Australian advertising jingle for something called Aeroplane Jelly which began on her show. |
