Hello there (recovering opiate/heroin addict)

Hey I dont really know how this works. But heres my story, have been sober off and on for years now. No one in my family knows I have struggled nor my closest friends. The only people who have known are the ones I have used for resources to my addiction. It is very lonely fighting this battle everyday and I am reaching out to maybe be able to talk to people on a similar page. I know it isnt recommended but I had gotten sober on my own and right now especially with the pandemic and isolation it is a hard time for me. Just curious if anyone can relate or If anyone has any positive reassurances for me. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the family. I have no experience with opiates but we do have a whole forum devoted to drug addiction. You might find some good insights there.

I know you'll find lots of support and understanding here.

I'm glad you found us.

Welcome to SR Justinekatie

While I don;t have any experience of Heroin and not much of opiates, I know others here will share their experiences

Regardless of our drug of choice I've found a lot of support, wisdom understanding and hope here...I know you will too.. You are not alone

Welcome Justinekatie, I am sorry for what brings you here but we are happy to have you join.
This is a lonely time for a lot of people and the uncertainty and fear do not help at all. But staying sober is so important right now, for so many reasons.
Congratulations on getting sober and stick around here and keep posting if we can help you stay that way.

Welcome, JustineKatie! I don't have experience with opiates or heroin either, but alcohol is simply a different drug of choice as others have mentioned. I got sober over 2 years ago just using this site, it's such a powerful tool if you engage fully. Take good care, and we're here if you need us!
