Saying Hello

I just wanted to take a moment and say hello since I'm new to the forums. I'm the wife of an amazing man who is on his 3rd year of sobriety from alcohol and 1 year clean from MJ use.

I'm very proud of him and I have to say this journey so far has been a long and difficult one with many relapses before his recent success. Lately, I've come to realize I need support too. I still worry about him some days more than others and that can be a hard thing to deal with. I'm still 100% in this for him and cheering him on his road to recovery every minute of every day. I think one of the things I deal most with on my end is trust but it's starting to rebuild.

I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you.

Welcome, ForeverHis. I'm so glad you found us.

How wonderful that your husband is free of alcohol & MJ. I had many false starts too. I kept insisting I could be a social drinker. Once I abandoned that idea I was ready for my new life. It's great to have you here.

Us addicts are experts at eroding trust and making those we love feel insecure and unstable. Ask any of us if you ever want a recovering person's perspective and you don't want to ask your spouse. Welcomes to SR. It is a good place.

Welcome forever !
Bravo to you and your husband.
It's no easy thing beating addiction.
There's a part of the forums dedicated to family and friends of addicts and alcoholics.
If you wish you would probably find alot of women and men in similar positions.
Take care
