Sailing Sober- Weekenders 10-13 April 2020
Ha! Mesa. Sorry - maybe you could find a better version of Southern Cross. I will gladly listen to any version.
..and I believe the Ropes are called Sheets.
Could be wrong.
I have a lot of hours in sailboats, having grown up in South Florida, but I'm a leetle bit rusty on my nautical terms other than the important ones like head and port and starboard, fore and aft, bow and stern etc. Oh, "Coming about!" is a good one to know in sailing, unless you like a blow to the head and an unplanned swim.
Memories...
p.s. Ray Charles singing that song is awesome!

Wow, brilliant pics!
I did have a diving pic too MantaLady, I didn’t want to fill up the first page too much. Feel free to post any others, I’m rusty on diving and snorkelling.
Captain Haddock or MesaMan , any of you want to be Captain.? Please?
I’d like to be watching the stars (thanks Leigh) and listening to the sea. (Pretty lazy hey. ) I can be observer for dolphins and whales.

Somewhere on the Serenity, a brilliant scientist is sequestered away, working on the cure to the virus. He requires complete isolation and quiet to succeed. He is so cleverly hidden that not even Captain Haddock knows where he is.
But there is one problem, the catering staff needs to find him or he will starve before he can save us all.
Where could he be?
Clue No 1:

Ok, the pilot is back)
Good that Invicta Serenity is top notch state-of-the art and has an autopilot which shows me how things are going in real time.
BTW, Leigh - is driving and piloting the same ? If so, it's super - we can work in shifts.
Suze - Is the poor scientist in the fridge?

Is the scientist hiding at the top of the mast, Suze?
MB, this is Wikipedia’s explanation of a Navigator:
A navigator is the person on board a ship or aircraft responsible for its navigation.[1] The navigator's primary responsibility is to be aware of ship or aircraft position at all times. Responsibilities include planning the journey, advising the ship's captain or aircraft commander of estimated timing to destinations while en route, and ensuring hazards are avoided. The navigator is in charge of maintaining the aircraft or ship's nautical charts, nautical publications, and navigational equipment, and he/she generally has responsibility for meteorological equipment and communications. With the advent of GPS, the effort required to accurately determine one's position has decreased by orders of magnitude, so the entire field has experienced a revolutionary transition since the 1990s with traditional navigation tasks being used less frequently.
