Gave in

Gave in to the craving, 13 days sober but wanted to buy alcohol.

Bought 3 bottles of guiness 5 Stella’s and a bottle of whiskey.

Had 3 Stella’s and a couple whiskeys and stopped before I vomited.

This is a real struggle!

Hi Stable,

I am sorry to hear that. Tomorrow is another day. You don't have to drink tomorrow just because you did today. Doesn't sound like it was a lot of fun so you can hang onto that and who knows it may just be less of a struggle from here on out.

Warm wishes
Lucinda

I still you can do this Stable.
Why not commit to posting here before you act on that decision to buy more booze?

Yes. I really, really recommend that. I’ve done it and it really works (I was shocked!). I’ve even posted here before drinking, fully believing I was going to drink anyway, but then I could at least say to myself “well, I tried not to drink… I even posted on SR!”. This way I wouldn’t have to feel so guilty for my drinking. After all, I did try to stop myself!

Posting here worked. It was a little bit of magic. What the addicted part of me didn’t want to work, but the rational part of me clearly wanted to work, worked. SR tipped the scales in my mental battle. The next day, I was sooooo grateful. So please try posting here next time. Even if it’s before hopping in your car to drive to purchase some alcohol. You never know what you’ll read off your phone before you walk into the store that might change your mind. Just reading people (strangers!) care and reading their reminders about why drinking is such a wrong decision...wow. Priceless.

I count 3 Guinness, 2 Stella's and a bunch of whiskey still in the fridge. You dump that stuff my friend, you read me? First things first.

It’s good you came here and shared- great work! It is indeed a struggle but let this be a learning moment and get back on track. We can do this!

Hi Stable,

I’m glad you came on and posted. How’s are you doing today? Did you dump the remaining alcohol?

Once I "give in" I'm a goner for days an days...
I hate the way it makes me feel about myself, I hate how it disrupts my eating, sleeping, relationships, health...but always end up giving in....so I know how you feel...

Hope you find the strength to "give up" on it again...it doesn't work....as we know...I've been giving in and giving up for the last 5 years....its a struggle...I'm sorry this has happened to you or anyone....its a terrible way to live.
