Day two alcohol withdrawal

On day 2 of quitting Fair got up to 12 pack a day for a good couple weeks straight prior to that usually a six pack noticed red patches I'm top of a lot of skin issues now seeing the doctor he gave me some steroid cream I figured it'll all fade as long as I refrain from drinking

Welcome to the family. A lot of wrongs can be righted by getting sober. Glad you're seeing your doctor. You will find lots of support here. Come back often and read and post. There is always someone here any time of day or night.

Welcome, Bwca. You've come to the right place.

I found SR on my day 5 in early January when I was googling alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and have found it to be a great source of support, insight, and wisdom. Browse around, you cannot help but learn something. You may find the Class of March 2020 thread particularly helpful; I know the January class was and is tremendously helpful to me.

I find I often learn from my own posts, as well. That is to say that spending the time and attention to focus on and sort out what I am thinking and feeling, and putting it all into words, helps me figure out what is going on with me, myself and I.

Welcome to your day 3 (I guess it depends on your time zone whether you are there yet lol but if not you will be soon so let me be the first to congratulate you).

My skin was always horrific when drinking/ detoxing. Spots/ flushing and very dry skin were normal. It will get better the longer you stay sober, also drink plenty of water.

My health is 1000% better when I'm not drinking.
Alcohol is nasty stuff for a lot of our internal organs - and especially our brain. Give it time, feeling happiness from natural dopamine is very healthy for you.

Welcome aboard bwca.

Like you, a 12 pack a night was not uncommon for me. You will continue to notice improvements in much more than just the health of your skin.

Great to meet you, bwca. Being here will help with your adjustment to life without alcohol - we all understand how you're feeling.

I haven't seen anyone else mention the red skin patches. I had them too - all over arms & legs. No one seemed to know how to treat them or what they were - but when I stopped drinking it never happened again.

Congratulations on your Day 3.

My skin was always terrible when I was drinking. I have eczema and it would get awful on my hands, they would get swollen and sore.....

I look and feel sooo much better when I am alcohol free. Still got some wrinkles, but that's okay!

Well done on day 2

I have seen some improvement well at all but hey it's a the right direction I believe my skin-crawling has went down to just a little at night right now that's just the anxiety that's irritating but trying to realize that everything is just normal thanks for everybody's support

Good job on your day 2! This is huge and you will see significant improvements soon...

When I detoxed off alcohol, I went through about 4-5 days of horrible sweats, diarrhea, headaches, anxiety and an elevated blood pressure (170's/120's!). I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, and was scared. But I made it through and slowly but surely, things got better and better.

Not sure if you can walk, jog or exercise but that helped me a lot.

My skin was yellow, eyes were yellow, I had stomach aches and was pre-hypertension. I was going down a dangerous road that I would not have been able to recover from.

Today, almost 9 months in, my skin has cleared, eyes are white and bright, I lost the booze weight, feel stronger, sharper and clearer and YOUNGER than ever.

It is magical on the other side of this thing. Do not give up.

I am rooting for you!
