Physical symptoms after quitting alcohol — nails
I feel much better, eating regularly, working in new job, keeping my weight, am more active.
Question: i had all the stages after quitting alcohol and they passed. I just noticed that a little part of my fingernails (except thumb) start at the base normal and at tip there is a small portion darker...dark pinkish, reddish. Some kind of discolouration.
Should i worry or is it still a sign of my intoxication before quitting? Will it pass?

Hi Grues0me
our nails reflect our health over the time it took to grow the nail.
I'm sure what you describe is indicative of something but I've no idea what
If you're worried, prob best to check with your Doctor?

Mine had horizontal dark pink stripes when I was drinking and faded after a few weeks, I think I googled it and it can mean liver inflammation. Interestingly I took migraine tablets for a few days once and the stripes came back.

They are also not ON the nails, its the skin beneath. When you press on the nail it turns normal color.
Thing is, i work out, i eat healthy, i feel great otherwise. Ill wait then and see.
Point is, if you google it can mean everything from heart problems to liver failure, kidney disease, heart failure or....nothing.
