Hi, I'm new
Hi, I'm new. This site was recommended to me by a good friend. I am terrible on the computer but finally got this far.
It's my son and my co dependency. I have done al anon meetings and I know I'm a pariah as I never felt part of it. nobody wanted to be my sponsor and actually suffered some verbal abuse ion two groups. So here I am. I'm not giving up and if the computer gods will allow I would like to get help here. I have always tried to please, always tried to help. and look where it's gotten me.

Totally welcome for one. Also this place it a godsend as you will find. Its not to tough to get around. Scroll around and check out the different sections. I quit entirely by using this site. No aa or otherwise. It can help you get in the proper mindset to deal with and finally decide to do this seriously. Lots of good advice and lots of encouragement. I'm going on 10 months now sober and it seems like just yesterday I was thinking I could not get to 10 days. Stick around and post alot and read alot. This is a great place. I was on here 24/7 for a while and I'm still here alot even though drinking and the urge to drink are long gone. Happy to have you and nice to meet you. Also, invite them over.

Welcome to the family. 
Do check out the friends and family forums. Lots of experience there from people who deal with family members or friends who are addicts or alcoholics.

Hi treadleskate! We're so glad you found us. As already mentioned, the Friends & Family Forums will be helpful - and being here on Newcomers is great too. I've been on both sides of this thing - wish I'd had SR to turn to many years ago - it would've made all the difference for me.
