Good day everyone.
Day one underway. Thought I'd feel worse actually, but the shakes are tough. Had to hold my morning coffee with both hands. I'm sure my wife noticed but she didn't mention it.
Dee, you are right. I get the f-its like many do, but there's something missing in my resolve. I tried AVRT but it didn't stick. That resolve will be key.
I'll keep this short, because even typing is shaky. Hopefully I'll escape the nausea. Stay the course everyone. I really need to make this stick this time and how cool would it be if we ALL get our drinking behind us for good!
PS: yes there was a run at the liquor stores last night. No time set for how long they'll stay closed. On the news they showed someone who had an entire shopping cart filled to overflowing. They left the person's face out of the frame.

Hi everyone I've just been for my appt with my mental health dr, and he thinks the crisis dr that diagnosis me with bipolar in November was wrong and thinks i actually have borderline personality disorder, he seemed to think this was better and more manageable ?! He says ppl with bpd are prone to binge drinking, not sure how true that is, but i do know for sure the only way i will get well is NOT drinking.

Had the first sneaky little voice from my AV today. Something going well with work and it popped up asking whether I was going to reward myself with drinking.
I'm not, obviously, but I'll make a note of this trigger. Something going well is a trigger for me, I'll beware of that and find another way to celebrate

Freedom, I think most of my personal problems were a result of heavy drinking. I had anxiety counting down the hours until I could drink at night. I notice I don’t look at the time as often as I used to. Another personal problem was guilt about hiding my drinking. This also lead to unnecessary anxiety. Waking up in the morning and not remembering everything I said was another problem I don’t have to deal with anymore. We all need to relearn how to deal with things other than drinking or substances.

Night all. Hope everyone is ok
It feels like a few people haven't posted for a few days. Would be good to hear from anyone reading the thread but not currently messaging themselves 👍
All schools closed as of next week and kids will be off for a long time. My life is on hold - I'm looking forward to a child-centred period of focussing on them and sobriety...potentially five months of that!!

Day 5 has come to an end and I am feeling good. Working from home is going very well and my kids started online classes today and that went well. Didn’t leave the house except for a 1.5 mile hike with my husband. Peaceful is the best way to explain how I feel tonight. Not having to leave the house gives me such inner serenity....not having to deal with people is a nice change.

Otter and tink it seems like we'll be doing some learning ourselves to keep up with the kids...
It's three weeks for me today. Not really celebrating that, just marking it quietly.
Had a very challenging therapy session yesterday. Being confronted with stuff is good but obviously hard too. I hope I can become more
