Returning with good news!
Hi all
I haven't been here for a long time but i was in a meeting today and someone mentioned about the support they got from an online community and it got me thinking of this wonderful place.
Today I am 800 days sober. I have held a job down for 2 years (longest ever) and even obtained a promotion. My debt is about 60% paid off, my marriage is better than ever and the relationship with myself is unrecognisable.
I write that not to promote any sort of jealousy or brag, but to say that sobriety does bring all sorts of great things. It is the hardest thing I have ever done and I still take it one day at a time and deal with cravings that appear out of nowhere, but if you are here, you have taken the first step by exploring help and perhaps this has got you to the point of considering recovery. Regardless, you are worthy of sobriety and although it doesn't feel comfortable, there is always a chance to recover, no matter how many times you've gone through treatment or how ever many day ones.
