Oh Manta I really feel for you, I was in a similar head space a couple of weeks ago after a weekend drinking. I fell into a big black hole of despair (the abyss as I call it when I get really depressed) and everything seemed hopeless and futile. Iíve figured that my feelings of depression are badly exacerbated by drinking. And it was really bad on Monday 2nd March. I didnít really care if I lived or died, in fact I felt the latter was a better option. But the awful fog of despair slowly lifted over the next few days of not drinking, and although itís not entirely gone, Iím in a much better head place than I was then. I know that for me, alcohol is a big cause of depression and anxiety. I found it really hard to stay sober after my first relapse, after Iíd had over a year sober. Then I kept slipping up again and again. But weíre still here and still trying, and thatís what counts. Because we ARE worth it, we really are.

I think your walking idea is a good one. Walking really helps blow out cobwebs from our minds. But go gently on yourself, be kind to yourself, and get plenty of rest and water too. You are worth it Manta, and you do deserve kindness. Be kind to yourself ❤️

Give your kitties lots of love and hugs too ❤️

glad you still have a job Manta.

there are SMART online meetings (https://smartrecovery.org.uk/online-meetings/) if you're struggling to find anything. if you do some googling you can probably self-refer yourself for counselling - there will almost certainly be a waiting list, but at least you could put yourself on it.

& there's all of us lovely people here of course

I have always suffered from a nervous cough, it only comes when in situations where I need to be quiet, weddings, funerals, interviews etc. The last few days it has happening when standing in the supermarket queue, the more I try to stop the worse it gets.

Very embarrassing in these difficult times

Kaily, I suffer from the same thing. I had Cubital Tunnel surgery yesterday afternoon...outpatient surgery. Every time while in the waiting room when having to cough I ran to the menís room. Once called back for surgery a couple times coughed in my pillow. Itís crazy...especially in these scary times.

Yes isn't it awful Gatorman, I end up nearly choking in my efforts not to cough making the whole situation so much worse.

I hope you heal quickly from your surgery.

I agree, the more pets the better ❤️

Kaily and Gatorman that must be embarrassing for you
Especially at the moment.

I managed to buy 1 roll of tp today! I went in early this morning but was still too late to buy a bigger pack. The multi packs had all gone. Because the single ones are individually wrapped theyíre considered a package so you can only buy one. I went to another shop and managed to buy a box of tissues (theyíre also limited to one). But I felt very lucky!
