11 days and feeling blessed
Feeling really good and so grateful to everyone who gave me advice to be able to get back and feel human again, anyone struggling to get back DO IT, try your best, the difference from how I felt and how I feel today is extraordinary, I thought 2 weeks ago this is it it’s got its claws into me, it was such a struggle to get back this time, feeling so blessed 🙏
Congrats!
I'd celebrate with some of my favorite foods and a brisk jog. My energy levels were there.
11 days means I could make forever. The physical was over. It is now all mental.
I told this story here a couple of times.
I relate it to understanding that my drinking problem was all mental. A learned behaviour.
My 86 year old grandma drank about 2 liters of vodka and smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a week.
She lost her mind along the way and forgot she drank and smoke. She forgot who we all were as well, but she was almost always super nice. Just forgot everything. Kind of cute usually...unless she got salty.
She ended up getting real healthy and lived another 5 years strong.
This issue I have with drinking is all mental. It can be unlearned and forgotten about.
Thanks.

You're doing great! Beware the ups and downs, good days bad days, they are coming . I know that you know. I have bad days but I always remember that tomorrow will more than likely be awesome! Best wishes for you on your journey!
Well done on the sober days mummy!
What management strategy have you added to your plan to deal with the AV cravings since last relapse?
I know I sound like a broken record, but it seems that your relapse pattern is similar to mine— you go off the rails maybe suddenly without much warning. That pattern really requires an intervention sequence to slow down response that you follow without fail.
What are three things you can do between AV craving hitting you that must be done to give you time to step back emotionally/ mentally until the urge passes?
You know the urge to drink hits hard and fast, and will test you over and over in early sobriety. What is new in the equation so that you win this time instead of the AV?
