Trust me, it gets harder and harder each time, it truly does it worse! :( |
Hope the job hunt goes perfectly and congrats on a week. |
Best wishes for you on your journey! |
Thanks 🙏 |
Wishing you luck on your search for work Mummy. I have only quit drinking once in my life - about 3.5 months ago. I appreciate you honestly posting and letting people like me know that we cannot drink again ever and that each time we pick up again, it gets harder and harder to make it back. |
Congratulations on 1 week of sobriety and good luck with the job search. |
Thanks |
Well done on 1 week |
Mummy, congrats on one week. A bit of advice on the job search. My friend was applying at the state of California. He submitted 50 applications to various areas. the first 40 were failures. Between the last 10 he had 2 offers and took one and is happier than ever. Don't give up if you have issues. |
Thanks, I just want a job for the summer to keep me busy and help with the language 👍 |
I hope you take some time to carefully review each thing that happened in your previous relapses, and make a structured, planned response for each area where things went wrong and how you will stop / delay the drinking urges when they come again, which they always do. Six days out is great, and a good time to get honest with yourself about breaking this pattern for good. As you noted in title, it’s getting harder to stop every time you drink again. One time you won’t and that could be as soon as next time. All of us have been there too so please don’t just put a bandaid of distraction on this but dig deep and deal with underlying causes, and build solid proactive responses to stay sober. I cried many tears when I really had to quit forever, but it has been so worth it. You have a wonderful family who loves and needs you. Alcohol is such a poor substitute for that Mummy. |
^ good post. :tyou Congrats on your week Mummy. Now you can build on that... :) D |
