Welcome to Weekenders PeaceManic!

Excellent gig! It was a bit short but there were support acts so no complaints. First real gig I've been to since I got sober. I must say the Roundhouse is quite a smart venue once again. I managed to stay out past midnight too - that doesn't happen very often these days.

Glad you enjoyed the gig Sao I don’t stay up much after 9pm these days otherwise I’m falling asleep! Well done on making midnight! And sober!

Anxiousrock it wouldn’t be worth drinking Sunday night, you’d just feel like crap and even more anxious on Monday.
The AV promises the feel good factor but in reality delivers anxiety, depression, despair, not to mention all the headaches, nausea and physical destruction it does to our bodies as well as our mental health. Nope, drinking soft drinks and eating tasty snacks is a much better option

Morning Weekenders

Anxious Rock, keep posting if the AV is yelling at you....together we can yell much harder.

Saou, pleased you had a good time. I’m impressed you stayed awake after midnight.

Hi PeaceManic

See you later. xx

Well done to all who made it through Saturday, hangover free Sundays never get boring. It took me failure after failure to get my mindset in the right place to not succumb to drinking. (probably because i'm stupid) I would do pretty much the same thing every time - quit and then try and resist the cravings each evening and if I got through an evening they would return the next day. It was like trying to unlock a door with the wrong key over and over. I arrived at a point where I realised that I was either going to have to do something different to get sober or die a drunk, a literal sobering thought. Committing to doing whatever it takes to stay sober is kind of uplifting too.

A few more of these have sprung up recently although the frequent heavy downpours have made the contents a bit damp. They are a good idea.

Well done FF for getting through Saturday.
I have a more difficult time on weekends also. We can stay focused and do this !

I love those lending book huts, Sao. I have a record (lp) one near me that someone created.
- I have yet to contribute. Maybe today.

Hello, Weekenders.

Amidst the craziness of the coronavirus reactions, I continue along sober. I hit six years this past week and I still haven't figured out if it should be something to celebrate or just another day. Seems odd to celebrate something that I need to be doing. Sort of like, "Yay! I brushed my teeth for 313 weeks in a row." In the beginning though, every day and every week was hard-earned and precious.

If I hadn't been on this site and in particular in this thread which became my home I don't know if I would have made it through my first year so I hope anyone newly sober makes good use of the deep well of wisdom and experience here. It is helping to save lives.

Good nutrition, sleep, staying busy, exercise, keeping myself safe, carefully choosing my situations and who I spend time around - all that stuff helped and continues to be my foundation.

The coronavirus is at my doorstep. All those deaths reported in Washington State were about three miles from me so it's been pretty tense around here this week. My neighborhood is Ground Zero for the U.S. outbreak and people have all kinds of over the top reactions.

I was really sick for a month back in December and it was an unusual illness I've not experienced before with a lot of coughing, so I have the idea that I probably had it already. I'm hoping that means I won't get it again. Luckily I already have toilet paper and hand sanitizer. It's nuts.

There is a new resident of Seattle. Just thought I'd drop by and announce it. Not any images and they're not going to be out in the public for months, but there's a short video on the Zoo blog.

Morning all. Busy work day ahead. So much for taking day off.

FF, it's going to be a beautiful day without poisoning yourself. Just do something positive. Go to church. Go for a walk in a park somewhere. Go to a gym.

Bimini, wife's sister lives in Seattle and works for Boeing. She said that they have been told to take home computers for work and don't come back to their office until further notice. We went to the zoo while visiting there a few years ago. They had just gotten a snow leopard as I remember. I just love the Boeing flight museum though and like to go every time we are there.

Congrats on 6 years Bim!

So far had a sober weekend, intend to see it out sober too! Been busy cleaning house and getting organised for next week to add some more activity to my plan, so that means the keys in the pool locker thang and an AA meeting on Thursday obvs along with eating well and the days I don’t swim going for a walk.

Hope everyone is well x

Jr has 2 mins.

Congrats, ff, on turning back. Now do something rewarding with your sober time.

Welcome back, Sendsleep. I haven't seen you on here is a while. Good luck handling increased pressures at work, it sounds under control.

Off to work for 2 hours then maybe outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.
