Man.... this post makes me so happy.

You were there the last time that I slipped. Since then I have not been active here, but thankfully, I have remained sober for a while now as well. And I think you were in your early days of recovery and you still were the for me.

I have taken a similar approach to you, and it is working well. You seem like a very smart dude.

Keep it up!

Followed your travels on the diagram Ravel. It was wonderful.

Thank you so much. You helped more than you would know.

Congratulations on a wonderous six months.

Not logged in for a few months and am very pleased to see your 6 months post, Jan 👍

I‘m supposed to be attending a wedding in Berlin in August. We’ll see if that goes ahead.

I’m sure you feel fortunate to have quit before Coronavirus arrived. I certainly do. Well done again.

So glad your thread bubbled up, Jan, so that I can revel vicariously for a moment in your calmness.

Congratulations on finding your spiritual you.

Now, this thread is so pre-Corona! On that day when I wrote this thread, I wanted to hug the world!

Thanks a lot for your congratulations, it really means a lot to me. Next stop: eight months in May.

Indeed, Covid gave me a rough time, the first two weeks of March were a proper struggle. Today I am fine. But whoever quit alcohol during the last six weeks is incredibly brave.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the marriage, Hodd, today it seems highly unlikely that a wedding party could take place, but who knows, it's a long time. If the basic reproduction number remains low maybe smaller gatherings will be allowed in four months. In any way: Good luck to you (and the couple!).

I was thinking about this. Would it be harder to give up alcohol during this crisis?

No because it’s a stressful time for everyone plus boredom is a factor.

But yes as some of the stresses, e.g. driving, are reduced. For those unfortunate to not be working, sleep difficulties from alcohol withdrawal should be less of an issue.

I’m sure glad I quit a while ago. I’m not immune from a relapse so am on my guard, but I would never use the current stress as an excuse to drink.

I think the Berlin wedding will have to wait until 2021, but that’s no big problem for anyone 🙂
