saout, I lOVE castles!
And lighthouses

MB you are so right. I have spent too many decades looking at the hurdles. I still do but it's a work in progress.

Good afternoon/night, all..

Love, too! ❤️

My friend had three days of slight improvement and then took a sizable fall backwards. She had two strokes resulting from blood clots in her heart. The strokes were said to be minor but have set her back significantly. It is still possible that she will recover. Just so much concern and uncertainty. Thanks so much for your continued prayers.

Have a good day, all.

freedomfries.

Morning Weekenders 🐣
It's coffee o'clock here in 🐸land ✌️

This coronavirus has me wondering if it's a good idea to go to the big concert on saturday... I seen that the first case of coronavirus in my region was found yesterday in Montpellier....
From one day to the next it seems there's 40 cases now in France..

This will wake ya up... Play it loud :

I am in! Weekends is when I usually slip up and then end up sick on Monday.

Morning Weekenders

Maximus, weekends were always an excuse for me to really binge out, only to be really hungover on Mondays. Having a plan to avoid alcohol may help?

Midnight, I like your analogy, seeing beyond the hurdle! We can take that in life too I’m sure.

Vinny, might be worth checking out any info before you go to the concert.

Saou, I love the photo, castles sure have some stories to tell.

Loving the music Lunar and Vinny, bit early for me to have it on full blast though Vinny.

See you later. xx

Hello Weekenders!

Nice intro as always Mags!
You are very inventive...I mean horses! I had to be locked in my horse stable to begin my soberty journey.
It's always a pleasure to discover with what you'll come out!
That is one of the reasons I keep coming back

169th consecutive sober weekend ahead for moi.
I'm a bit unstable at this time of the year..I always have problems dealing with equinox but it's a LOT easier sober!

Happy birthday FF!

Have a good day! ☼

Got some new gym clothes off my parents and some books on gratitude and positive thinking from my friend. He's in recovery so I think he chose books that will help my sobriety. It's a nice birthday so far.

Beautiful castle Sao, love Monty Python and their films - it was so sad about Terry Jones - no one quite like him.

Quote "Don't look at the hurdle, look beyond it". thanks Midnight, I'll have to remember this.

Quote"saout, I lOVE castles!
And lighthouses"
Me too fishkiller

Quote" It is still possible that she will recover. "Still praying Soberleigh

Enjoying the music Lunar and Vman. The speakers on this laptop aren't really up to it though especially Testaments 'Over the Wall' but maybe that's just as well - Mr H might have wondered what was going on lol.

Stay on the Forum this weekend Maximus , lets all have a healthy Monday morning

Happy Birthday Freedomfries

Quotewill I be drinking this weekend? neigh! Aaaaaaargh lol

Well done on 169 consecutive sober weekends CK, that's over 3 years wow.

Hi Magsie Hi Phoenix

Bit grey and cloudy this morning. I'm still looking forward to this time next month when the clocks go forward and it will still be daylight at 7:30pm.

Aaaaargh Williamcat is walking near the keyboard, must go now.....

Day 104

Paying off more debt each month is nice. Want to be debt free in 6 months or so (no idea off the top of my head). Luckily I don't have a car payment since I paid that off and didn't buy a new car or anything like that (didn't upgrade or get anything better. Get out of credit cards for good at that point.

I don't have any interest yet, but I kind of did get into some debt after buying a home and opening a credit card. Want to be done with credit cards in 6 months.

It's not fun thinking about that right now, but maybe in 6 months I can be alcohol free and in great standing financially debt wise. Just have the home to pay off then.

IDK just felt like telling someone this. I know I'm not that bad off, but I really don't like having credit cards. I went a couple years a while back not using credit cards at all.

10 months or day 300. I want to be debt free. $175 extra each month (roughly) to get me there from not drinking and eating food due to drinking. Debt isn't terrible, but it's some extra motivation for now.

IDK just felt like telling someone this even if it's just to a wall (no one reading it).

That's just 29 weekends or so.

I'm reading
Sounds like you are doing fantastically to me.....and that's a brilliant goal. s

Vinny love ~ I would not be going to that concert. I am not panicking about this, but I am not about to get on a plane or go to an event like that. Just my feelings. s

Hey old man ff and all weekenders. Happy Birthday; Happy Friday; Happy Sober Day. Celebrate all that apply.

I'll be celebrating a friend's 96th birthday Sunday.

As I said yesterday on this thread (I think it was), messaging for max 5 minutes here until I have ticked off a few neglected work projects. Making progress.

It's early Friday (5:30 a.m.-ish). I have a full work day ahead, current and catch-up tasks. If I'm "good," maybe I'll make it to the gym later.

We do judge ourselves, don't we? If I'm good? We say that (or the opposite) about the drinking, the working, the working out, the diet, the dieting, the list goes on. Speak for yourself, jr. Ok, I say that about everything about myself.

That's not so bad, is it? (Here I go, judging, and looking for approval lol.) No, I mean it; one must have standards, at least this one must. Yes, but why not practice a little kindness towards self, too, no?

Oops, after deleting a non seguitur paragraph or two, jr's time's up for this post, as 5 minutes turns to 15.

Mathematics, it’s a good saving, not drinking...a good incentive too!

Hi jr, hope you get your work finished to get to the gym.

Hiya Suze and harriet

CK, that’s an intriguing story....locked in your horses stable.....though you’re in good company if you’re sharing with your horse.

Hello weekenders!

Vman! One of my favorite bands! I made the mistake of standing in front of the stage at one of their concerts in the 80's! We just about got crushed to death! My girlfriend started kicking guys in the groin to get us out of there!

Made the mistake of bringing up the subject of reorganizing closets this weekend with the wife. Now I think I'm committed

It's Friday people!!!!

Hey man so glad you are still fighting the good fight!
Your friend sounds like a real good friend! Stick close to him and others like him as much as possible.
I believe we are products of our surroundings a lot of times.
Positive environments create positive thoughts and the other way around.
