Ten months sober

One of the great things about this site is how you can effectively end up with a journal of recovery. It's one of the reasons I make these posts each time the 25th rolls around. I can see how far I've come.

For me now it's about not getting complacent, consciously reminding myself I'm in recovery, whether that's through talking it over with a friend or family member, posting here, or going to a meeting.

From this far out it's now easy to see how much the lows of drinking outweigh the highs; when you're in the madness I know it is not always so easy. So my advice to anyone new is just keep the faith that the good days will come, keep logging on here, and keep pushing on :)

As i said on my '7 months sober' post, you have been a key person in my own journey Tetrax. Every one of your posts makes my day. I hope you are settled in your new home

Congrats!

I make it a point to remind my AV any time it pops up of where we were just a little over a month ago and where we are now. It seems to get it so far.

Thanks for posting!

Congratulations!

And I agree with your message to people new to recovery. Have faith that things will get better. Because they will, if you stop pouring the booze into your body. In my case there, was nowhere to go but up, and I knew that. And I was in a recovery program surrounded by people who were farther along than I was, and I could see that their lives had improved. So even on my darkest days in early recovery, I had faith.

Always inspired by your updates. Good stuff. And yes, I agree - enternal vigilance is the price of freedom. It takes work. But it's worth your life. Keep it moving.
