Another Day 1

I was able to stay sober on my own during my pregnancy but that was over a year ago and my drinking has spiraled out of control since then. Now I am on a lot of medication for a health condition that I shouldn't be drinking with. So for my health and myself I want to be sober again. I am so glad that this community is still here for support. I don't think that I can do it alone this time.

Welcome back! Stay close to SR! Read and post often. You can do this!

My longest sober stretches, since I was 18 (I’m 50 now) were through both of my pregnancies. I, too, spiraled out of control after that. My realization came when I knew I couldn’t do this on my own. I tried SO many times, for years, to drink in moderation. I failed miserably. The only thing that’s keeping me sober now, is I have a plan in place - SR, online AA for women, a sponsor, a daily 10 item gratitude list, and I came clean to my family and close friends.

You can do this! You said you can’t do this alone... have you shared your struggles with anyone close to you?

Hi. I had stretches of sobriety, too. My longest was seven months when I was going to AA.
I found I couldn't do it alone, either.
I hope you find the support you need here. You can stay sober if you're willing to do whatever it takes.
And that's the active word, willing. It took willingness and an open mind for me to get sober and take action and go to any length necessary.
Best to you and I hope you stick around.

Welcome back! I also realized I can’t do it alone, and am so grateful for this wonderful community. Having a written plan is also very helpful. You can do this, and we’re here for you ❤️

Stick close to the community here now, especially in the very early days again. It could be especially dangerous drinking with those meds too, hope you can make it stick this time :)
