I did it!!! Wonderful News.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for making a whole new thread about this, but I just wanted to share that I got into the graduate program I applied to today!! Got the letter in the mail.

I will be doing a four year, part time program to get a masters in social work.

I couldn't have done this while I was still drinking. I had no goals, no ambition, no idea what I even wanted to do. But I picked up the pieces, and eventually everything started coming together. I'm going to finish this program and hopefully do some good.

Thanks for all the support, everyone. I am truly becoming who I want to be.

That is wonderful!!! A social worker and social policy maker who has gone through the gauntlet of addiction like you have will bring such sympathy and empathy and understanding to all of the people you will help. I am happy for you and for all of us.

Congratulations!!!!!!! I almost started an msw program, might someday!!! My best friend teaches grad social work.....the field is awesome and full of the most amazing people!!!! Any thoughts on what you want to do with your msw? It'll open so many doors!
