Made a lot of strides and then...
I’d been sober for a while, but tonight I messed up. There are lots of things that triggered this for me today, but honestly they’re just excuses. I am so disappointed in myself. I don’t want to spiral back to my daily 2 bottles of wine.
Great that you have recognised the slip up quickly - just call it a hiccup and get back on track again now. Remember why you gave up last time - the drunk life isn't a good life!
Get back on that horse...

Hi Recycledlettuce
There will always be someone here to talk you through it the next time a part of you wants to drink.
Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Let the part of you that wants to stay sober win

Yes yes, absolutely no more 2-bottles-of-wine-days. That was my daily load and it is the very definition of insanity. You are just fine RecycledLettuce (LOVE that handle by the way). Today is Friday and now you can go into your weekend sober, with a clear and quiet mind. Thanks for being honest and telling us what is going on. It really helps people like me.

Good insight!
Alcoholics are great at rationalizing their behavior, and I think that's part of the denial problem.
I often think that the reason we drink is because we are alcoholics, and that's what alcohol's do. We need to be "on guard" on a daily basis.

I'm glad you're back and you don't need to spiral down any further. Get rid of any alcohol you have around and see if you can add something to your recovery program to help you through tough times.
