Day 6
Good for you Tink. That emotional roller coaster seems very typical of us newly sober folks. Hard to deal with some days, that's for sure. But I find that the highs and lows are far more brief if I am not planning on drinking to self-medicate those. I think our minds and our bodies both prefer equilibrium.

The emotions thing is very natural - it's actually an initial sign of healing and not something to be terribly alarmed by. Practice kind of just observing your feelings - detaching from them just a bit. Watch and think about where they come from and where they go. And by God make sure you aren't too hard on yourself. Give yourself a break. You are doing the right thing.
In the meantime, stay sober. That's it. That's all you have to do right now. The days stack up in a hurry. Soon it'll be weeks, then months. Your body chemistry will even out a bit and you'll find energy to do other things. But for now it's simply a great day to not drink.
(Diving into your sobriety and making it a big big priority in terms of learning and what influences you decide to let around you is a very good idea by the way...)
