Prayers and unlimited support for him and
all who suffer with addiction. May they find
the strength, willingness and an open mind
to seek recovery to achieve a healthy mind
and body.

I clicked on this thread and was blown away. I cried so hard to think that people care about me like the way you guys care for me. I LOVE ALL OF YOU.

Now I am wiping tears from my kleenex box.

Tears cleanse the soul so that good can come in. You can do this! It is possible to complete a 26 mile marathon with baby steps if you take enough of them!

DEE, when you were drunk and a pothead, if someone told you to start "right now" would you have done it? I'm guessing not, I am on my own time table, I'll get there man, I will.

Dee is offering advice based on his experience and hindsight. When I was a drunk, I stayed a drunk for a long time because I wouldn't take anyone's advice even when that advice was based on personal experience and hindsight. At least that was my experience being a drunk.

It is a good thing that alcoholics are stubborn, because after they do find recovery, they will at times need to be stubborn when trying to help other alcoholics find recovery.
