I am trying to taper down. It is a bank holiday here so I will not be able to get a doctor appointment until Tuesday at the earliest. So I am trying to do it without librium, following this schedule. The numbers are ml of alcohol, not ml of beer. Yeah, Thursday was pretty bad.

Th Fri Sat Sun Mon Tues
Ml of alcohol 400 160 117.5 80 40 0

I am in contact with a few of the other patients from rehab. Genevieve has been doing well on the alcohol front - has stayed off it - but has being having panic attacks and suicidal thoughts in the last few days. She is on risperidone and an SSRI (I forget which one) but they don't seem to be enough. I was prescribed Effexor but I've stopped taking it, it didn't seem to be working and the tablets are enormous, like bullets.

I hope you'll be OK doing it alone...the local casualty/emergency room is always an option.

Thanks Dee. I couldn't face an A&E in Dublin on a bank holiday weekend. I think some of them refuse to detox alcoholics in any case. I don't know which ones do and which ones don't.

SSRIs take 4-6 weeks to show progress. I know from experience.

12 weeks sober today. It feels like an important landmark. Since 25th April, I have had 75% sober days. Going forward this needs to be 100%.

12 weeks - how wonderful is that? Very proud of you, sortofhomecomin. We know how hard you worked for it.

Non stop anxiety, non stop cravings for alcohol, only slightly alleviated by chores and exercise. In the last 90 days I have had 86 sober and 4 non-sober days. In the last 7 months, I have had approximately 76% sober and 24% non-sober days. I post these stats in the hope I will not be judged or told I must reset my clock to my last slip, any posts of that type will lead to my immediately blocking the poster, I have had enough judgement from my family. Thanks.

I really don't think anyone's going to tell you how to count days in this thread.
I'm sorry for your anxiety, man.

I like the way you crunch the numbers. Very positive approach IMO. You’re gaining some serious ground in sober land...congratulations!
