Today should be the end of day two. Hope you are doing ok. There's no good reason not for today to be the first day of the rest of your life instead of another series of hours lost to the poison. Why not put it down for good?

My friend, don't disappear.

You absolutely are someone who wants to quit.

Even if you aren't working at getting into rehab today, keep coming back here. Read everything.

Life is so much better on the sober side, I wish I could give you the gift of looking at yourself from the inside out at one year sober. Truly it is a miracle to quit. The world suddenly opens and becomes a friendly place.

I'm sorry to hear this, sortof - and like Dee said, I hope you don't put off that rehab part. If it is possible to dedicate the money and time, it sounds like a great start for your sobriety.

Drop me a PM if you wish to talk and good luck!

What's up SOH? Hope you are in your way to getting some help.

Your post has haunted me. I am very familiar with these days of planning and putting off quitting, if giving in to the poison, of choosing to drink over and over when all I wanted, deep down, was to get clean and clear of the Beast.

Check in and let us know how you are doing

I guess I missed the part where you said you were going to rehab so that would explain the silence. Best of luck!

Was checking in to see how you are too - let us know or even better, come back once you are able to get online during or after rehab so you know we have been rooting for you the whole time!

I hope you're doing ok SOHC?

I hope you got yourself into St. Pat's.

I felt very uncomfortable with this thread. Sometimes cutting back and setting a date (not too far into the future), is what is advised, needed.

I could be wrong, but it wasn't until far into your thread did you disclose how much you were drinking, tolerance, etc. It may well have been risky for you to stop abruptly. Clearly better to stop stop now, but no one really knew your circumstance.

I do hope everything is going alright for you, and that you are in rehab getting well. The break away from the poison will set you on the right track. It is clear that you want sobriety.

Fifty two days for me SOHC and it really is so much better.

Wishing you well.

Add me to the list of people checking in to see how you’re doing. Were you able to get into the program you talked about?
