2 years

Hey folks. It's been awhile.

Went for a walk in the snow this evening - was beautiful out - and felt kinda compelled to poke my head in and give a shout out.

Feb. 21st is two years. Hard for me to believe really. Happy to say I am still very much sober and very much grateful and happy to be so.

Time. I mean, wow. 2 years.

I still think about the night I wrapped my car around that telephone pole.... the night in jail, the all day walk home, the attorney, jail time, 5 months on house arrest. The ordeal. And I still thank whatever qualifies for God that I didn't hurt anyone.

I still think about the absolute desperate state I was in on the Sunday morning - 2 days removed from the accident - that I found SR. I'm so grateful for all of it.

The degree to which my life has improved is impossible for me to explain.

Remember, being sober is a victory! Dropping the ******** isn't a loss. Choosing sobriety is an absolutely amazing net gain. O, it can be a pain in the ass sometimes - especially in the early days. But enjoy the journey! Think of it as an adventure! Wake up! Live!

Choose to find and be who you really are and don't apologize for it to anyone!

I hope peeps are well.

Best-

-B

Good evening great post my friend. I too am on this journey I'm on day 264 as of today. Best choice I made let me tell you. Had to face the fact that I sucked at boozing . but being stuck on stupid continued to do it. End result ? Multiple DUIs divorce.loss job freedom etc etc. But quiting. My gains have been up the roof and gaining skies the limit. So yeah congrats. ✌

I'm only on day 92, but your words above are exactly what I want to do at this point in my life.

Congratulations on two years and thanks for popping in to encourage those of us who are just starting out.

Congrats Buckley! I love reading your posts, so inspiring. I had troubles with the law shortly after you so definitely commiserated.

unfortunately, I had a relapse at 527 days. I can’t count days right now as it will depress me further. But I am committed to getting back up.

thank you for your post, positivity, reminders, inspiration, and love.

An inspiration and an example. Thanks for checking in with us. The work is worth it, isn't it? Not easy, not free, but worth it.

Proud to be walking the road with you brother.
