Turned off

Too much wine so I can't sleep. I'm tired and turned off by any more alcohol. Suggestions?

Hi windlover

You posted in an admin forum related to the chat room, not the chat room itself.

I moved your thread here to Newcomers forum for more response.

If you prefer the chat room, the chat room portal is here:

I had a few sleepless night - mostly coming off a bender rather than too much wine in my case though. I just read a book or listened to music through headphones until I'd get a few hours of rest before dawn.

If you give up the booze, you'll probably find you get a normal sleeping pattern back soon enough

I lived that pattern most of my life. So glad those days are over. I tried so many times to get out of it but kept failing. When I found SR I finally made it. It feels so good to be free from that dark place that I was stuck in. If you are as sick of feeling like that there is a ton of help here. Open 24/7. Won't you join us?

At the end of my addiction back in 1990, I
was a wine drinker too. Wine was quicker
to get to and easier to drink so I thought,
BUT, the consequences of drinking a toxic
substance caught up with me and.....

Family stepped in placing me into the hands
of those capable of teaching me about my
addiction to alcohol and a program of recovery
to incorperate in my daily life on a continuous
bases to achieve a strong foundation to live
my life upon for yrs to come.

That was 29 yrs ago and have never wavered
from my determination to remain sober since
then because I have remained teachable and
willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve
healthy, happiness and honesty in my own life.

Here in SR. as you continue to read success stories
of others, you will see that there are lots of folks
using various other methods of learning how to
remain sober. Whatever it takes and whatever
works in helping all learn to live addiction free each
day moving forward will work.

It is in not seeking all the help and knowledge
available to us that will keep us sick in that
merry go round of insanity and not reaching a
life filled with many blessings to enjoy on a
daily bases.

Continue to listen, learn, absorb and apply
what you read here in SR and hang on to SR's
lifeline so that you can begin to accumulate
many one days sober ahead of us and never
return to the craziness that goes with addiction.

We never have to wine about wine no more.

Support, care and understanding sent your way.

I think the answer you're looking for is to stop drinking. Find a meeting of some sort and start the sober journey.
