Hi Tink. I'm sorry that has happened. I hope you find the support and companionship you need. Even if nobody from SR can go with you, can you perhaps go on your own and form new connections? I realize that is more difficult than forming connections here in digital world, but if you are looking for real human contact, the folks at AA meetings are there for you to connect with. If I wasn't half a world away I would go with you.

Hi Tink, I'm sorry things are going badly right now. I hope you can connect with someone at a meeting. And please know, we are here for you.

Is there an AA hotline you can ring in your area or maybe on their website you can get a number for someone to contact you and organize a meet up? Hope it works out for you

Sorry youre going through this.

If I was on the other side of the pond Id come pick you up and take you even though Im not an AA'er.

Please call locally and AA will have a woman call you back who can arrange to pick you up.

People DO love to help.

Im sure everyone of us here would pick you up if were close.

Please call AA⚘

Hi tink
So sorry to hear about your job.
When I first went to AA I rang the helpline and they were lovely and arranged for someone to meet me at the meeting.
If I were closer I would come with you but I'm midlands.
You will get loads of support from them, I did. Best wishes. I hope you start to feel better soon. I got so low I was at rock bottom. Take care

Hi Tink,

Not in the UK, but I am very glad to see you posting on here. I’m sorry about your job.

Great advice about heading to the meeting on your own to try to meet someone, or calling the local number to see if someone can get you.

If that doesn’t happen try an online meeting, or hang out on here. There is always someone to talk to.

Sending lots of love your way.

❤️Delilah

I think ringing the hotline or the local office is a good idea TB? Get someone to meet you there at least?

You mean the Highlands of Scotland?

I would imagine most of the larger fishing towns would have a meeting. As others have suggested, perhaps phone the hotline.

Here's a website I found with the meetings in the Highlands:

I'm pretty close across the Irish Sea, but not close enough.

You're not alone Tinkerbeau, there's whole Forum of people to talk to for support right here if you're stuck, keep checking in if you need to.

I did wonder! Certainly one would usually talk about the North East as being Newcastle area, but that's not the north east of the UK! LOL Some people conflate the UK, Britain and England, when they're terms for different entities.

Anyway, Tinkerbeau if you're reading this I hope you're okay. Your last two posts (on a different thread) were a bit worrying, so it would be nice if you could let folks know you're okay. Best wishes.
