I have been of the firm opinion that the teens and 20-somethings are the most likely to relapse and relapse quickly. They only know one life — that of using. And at that point they have little to lose and incentive to get sober.

Addiction doesn't care how old or young anyone is, but it's very possible they may still gain some emotional maturity and be able to see the true gravity of the situation later in their 20s. I stopped at 26, never went to rehab but made some truly horrifying drunken decisions and life choices.
It may seem harder to stop young but imo can also be much easier to (re)-build after quitting..
