My name is Anthony and I'm an alcoholic, tomorrow sees me achieve 1 year sobriety, I could not and would not of achieved this on my own , God knows I tried , along with my higher power and the fellowship of AA the compulsion and desire to drink has gone and only by keeping up these practices in my life can I remain clean and sane

Congrats Anthony & welcome to SR. I was so skeptical of AA at first but after hearing/seeing so many success stories of people who actually WORKED the steps I'm convinced.

Anthony, as I've asked others with long term sobriety, please post on this Newcomers forum as often as you can. It really helps people like me. Seeing a sober future more than just today is so important I think. I am ok dealing with things one day at a time, but seeing success down the road really helps us. Thank you for posting.
