I have been where you are. It's terrifying at first because it's all new and you don't know anyone. Soon you will find friends there and get a therapist and probably be assigned to group meetings. Believe it or not, I loved rehab even though I felt like you did at first. It will save your life!

Hi jj. I know you're overwhelmed right now. You say "lots of reasons."

Can you slow it down to pinpoint why you have that gut feeling "I just wanna leave."?

Rehab is a gift. However, 29 yrs ago when family
family and the court system placed me there, I didnt
realize how much of a gift it really was because my
alcohol was taken away from me abruptly.

I didnt have a chance to decide for myself to stop.
Which was a good thing, because I tried too many
time to stop on my own and it never worked. So,
for the love, care and concern my family had for me,
they placed me into the hands of those capable
of teaching me about my addiction and hand me
the gift of a recovery program to incorporate in
my everyday life on a continuous bases so that
I would not have to pick up alcohol again.

Trying to solve everyday lifes problems with alcohol
never worked then and from all the yrs hearing from
many that have started and stopped with no luck
of staying stopped, I am definitely convinced that
alcohol doesn't work for me and never will.

That's the drive that keeps me sober today.

While there keep your mind open and be willing
to listen, learn, absorb and apply many helpful
tools to apply to your own life to build a strong
solid foundation to live upon for yrs to come.

I was in a supervised rehab setting for 28 days
too and sure there were time I wanted to leave.
However, once they told me after 2 weeks, I wasn't
ready to go home and wanted to send me to a
halfway house further away from my home and
away from my family, I pleaded with them to let
me stay where I was and do what ever was necessary
to complete this program before I was released.

They did agree and after my 28 day stay I was order
to a 6 week aftercare program once I went home. And
yes I completed everything which gave me a good
head start on building my own recovery foundation
and sober life to live on.

When times got rough, I pushed myself harder
with support from others just like me learning
to remain sober no matter what.

Do this for you and stay connected to your recovery
lifelines and many of lifes rewards will be there to enjoy
and appreciated down the road.

We're rootin for ya..!!!

Ok. After spilling here and a talk with my lovely boyfriend, I'm feeling a bit better. It's such a loss of control.

That it is. Terrifying and a relief all at once, no?
