Hello from a binger...

Hi there
I've been a reader of this forum for a very long time, but have finally come to realise that alcohol is very damaging for me. I am an occasional binger, but my binges are large and I'm feeling more unsafe after them. My drinking seems to have caught up with me and I have pretty much no tolerance since I had children. My children have never seen me drunk but I was terribly hungover and vomiting recently and I'm just wracked with guilt. I just don't want this on my back anymore.
My partner says I'm better without it; that I go inward when I drink and I check out...it's no good for me...
I appreciate this place, thanks.

I know, right.. I felt the calling for a sober life experience a long time ago, but I’ve been afraid of being without a social crutch. I’m ready.

Yeah I think we can all identify with that story. I found some alcohol assessment paperwork on me from 2011 when sorting through my stuff the other day. Joined here 2016. Finally put the bottle down last spring.

Binge drinking eventually led me to 24/7 drinking and a ruined life. I never would have dreamed it could happen to me. You're wise to take action. Welcome!
