Day 34

Met with my temp sponsor for coffee and got some more assignments to help me with steps 1, 2, & 3. He's a really good guy. Then did the brakes on my car and the damned caliper pin was seized and broke off in the bracket. That would have normally been enough to make me want to smoke weed or drink. I stayed calm and called around for a replacement. Found a part that was relatively inexpensive and finished the job. Sitting at home now relaxing. It feels good.

Nice job. The ability to calmly work a problem is one of the things I enjoy most in early sobriety.

It seems like every time I do my brakes I am breaking something. But think of how much money we save.

Im so glad for Napa. $65 for the whole caliper assembly. Toyota wanted $150 for just the bracket. Yikes!

Well done on both counts! I just did my brakes over Xmas vacation; $40 for the pads online and saved me at least a couple hundred bucks. Front brakes are pretty easy (at least if nothing breaks!).

Good on you for getting to day 35! Keep it up, can'tsleep!

Good morning and job well done . working on cars is not my strength. Detailing them now thats a different story I'm a beast at that. That was something I did 254 days ago. I was still good at it. However the next day I would see all the stuff I missed. Geez I wonder how that happened. Lol. Now I do it right the first time. ✌

My wife mostly drives this car so I went with expensive Akebono pads for her. I did get a hefty discount for signing up for an e-mail mailing list so that helped! The rear pads are just as easy but I'm waiting a couple of paychecks just in case there are stuck pins back there too lol.
