Glad you posted here. You'll find there are a lot of people you can relate to in one way or another! This is a good place to vent if you find there is something driving you to want to drink. Sometimes just typing something out is enough to cool you down. Also the anxiety gets better. I found most of mine was from drinking and never would have guessed that until I stopped. Now it's manageable.

Welcome Walter. I'm an old hand, at Day 8 here. But you're one day ahead of me in one sense. I found this site on my Day 5. Browse around. I particularly suggest you check out the Class of January 2020 discussion group. Many peeps in the same boat.
Goid luck, see you around.

Don't sweat the sleep thing WalterS. It is bad at first for most of us and is one of the last bodily functions to return to normal. Tired and drowsy is SO preferable to hung over, sweating, shaking, etc. Clear, calm and quiet is success. Your sleep will return eventually. Sometimes at first all of the extra hours in the day can indeed make you a bit anxious. It just seems like there should be something going on and there isn't. Think about how you want to fill all that time. I hope you have some support and a plan to stay sober. At first, part of your plan should be to ID your craving window and make a daily written plan to stay busy during that time. Post on here and tell us how it is going.
