Things often happen for a reason. The company I used to work for had an open position for branch manager about four hours away from where my wife and I live. I was disappointed and discouraged to not get it, but looking back, there is no possible way that it would have worked out longterm. And now I am doing exactly what I most wanted to do the entire time - hopefully without drinking myself into a coma every other night from now on.

I don't do many, but interview new people maybe once a year. It's always amazing to me when I explain the job and then the person sits there staring blankly not hardly saying a word. It makes a lot of difference to me if the person says that they would really like the chance to give it a go.
