I'm very interested in this topic (have been for a long time) and follow the research eagerly. We'll see in a bit longer-term whether it ever becomes a sort of mainstream, strongly regulated and widely available treatment for addictions. I personally think it's always good to keep an open mind to anything potentially helpful, given that there is still so much room and need for more effective treatments.
I can't help but return to comparisons between a host psychotropics (BigPharma) and LSD. The are ALL drugs.
I've experienced horrendous side effects result anti depressants, Cymbalta making me dangerously suicidal. A very close call. Soon as I stopped the impulse disappeared.
I appreciate however that anti depressants (and other) help a lot of people and would not deny them to anyone if they thought they might help.
Why is LSD any different to any other drug? I think it's political.
Research studies are quickly abandoned if efficacy is not being demonstrated. Costs. Efficacy has been demonstrated so why this black and white thinking?
