Day 1
I had a streak of 9 dry months last year, but broke it in February 2019 and have been binge drinking heavily most of the year. I have struggled with drinking on and off for years. I’m scared and I want to stop. Today is day 1.
You are in the right place dear sobermafia. s
Gosh I was scared in Nov 12 when I found this site....terrified.
Not now....coming here was the best decision I ever made. s ❤️
Welcome. xx
(I really need to edit that and say it was one of the two best decisions I ever made....SR brought me to my husband).

Welcome to SR, Sobermafia. This can be the last day one you ever have to go through.
This year is going to be so much better, and this time it’s going to last, I’m sure of it!
My plan for today is:
1. Be kind to myself
2. Drink lots of water
3. Take my vitamins
4. Banana and mango and turmeric smoothie for breakfast
5. A walk outside in fresh air
6. Gentle exercise, maybe 20 minutes
7. Nutritious foods
8. Sweet treats if I really need to avert cravings
9. Early to bed
10. Most important of all, I will not drink today.

Early days. Not wishing to count other than entering this year sober and staying that way. Also had a rough 2019 with a relapse after 19 months sober. Very hard to get back to abstinence but feeling like if I blow it this year, this month, this DAY, I won't get another chance. Have gone to meetings in the past so am open to that. Glad to be here. Feeling pretty emotional right now. I know it gets better.
