Diving in with both feet

Hello!

I almost had 60 days but then drank unfortunately. Drank three days all together but I知 not letting that take me down. I was pretty miserable those 60 days because I wasn稚 doing a recovery program. This time I will. Going back to AA. Anyway, just saying hi and I知 gonna stick around thanks!

Hi Goose, I'm glad you're back and ready to make a change. And, remember to find things to do that bring joy to your life each day.

Thanks everyone. Not feeling good today obviously. I really truly want to be happy. I have so many resentments. Mainly angry that I知 not a normal drinker. Ugh

I'm glad you made it back GM - many don't.
AA sounds like a good idea.

I had to accept my relationship with alcohol was toxic - always was - no point in resenting that fact.

Alcohol and I were terrible together.

I found once I started building a sober life I loved, the 'loss' of alcohol was no loss at all.

GM,
In addition to working on recovery I found it important to develop activities I enjoyed. I spent lots of time drinking, as it was my favorite pastime. That time needed filling. Exercise was it for me. An investment in my health, with the added benefit of being incompatible with drinking.

Specifically yoga, walking, running. Every day. My new after work/ weekend schedule.

Old habits must be replaced with new ones, IMO.
Good luck!
