7 days

7 days ago I admitted myself to the ER with (more than likely) alcohol poisoning. I wrote in depth about it on this forum so I won’t go into details again.

Just had bloodwork done yesterday and got the results.

ALK is now normal
AST decreased by 303
ALT decreased by 97
Heart rate is now normal
Blood pressure is 130/90 (still high but taking meds)

Still have a lot of work to do but it was incredibly encouraging to see these tests moving in a positive direction.

My wife has even noticed my sunken eyes are gone and by bloated waistline in decreasing. Although I will always have anxiety (bad patience I inherited from my dad), I’ve noticed little things don’t bother me the way they did before.

Loving life. Looking forward to day 8.

That's wonderful Vinny, well done on your 7 days.
Not an easy time of the year to do this, but so worth it.
I wish you well in your continued sobriety.
Sx

Isn't it a remarkable feeling when you start feeling physically better.
Gosh my heart/blood pressure was sky high to the roof.
A little anxiety is healthy feeling after experiencing the anxiety of withdrawals
Congrats on being alcohol free and being able to enjoy this season feeling physically better. What a great way to start off the new decade.

I was in the ER 6 days ago. I think I know exactly what you are going through right now. I am on the mend myself.
