Newcomer on Day 3
Hi All,
I'm new to this forum. Currently on day 3. Last week I got to day 4 before giving in to cravings and going on a binge for a few days.
So, back to day 3 again. Feeling a little than yesterday. The cravings haven't started yet.
Thanks for reading.

Welcome Mary. Living in Day 25 here. Today write down the time your cravings start and then if you can stay sober, what time they end. Then track that. Have a full written plan for that window and script every minute with things you are going to do during that time. As you are sober for a period of days you will hopefully see that craving window shrink and become less of an issue. Glad you joined the site. An amazing place with so many people with years and years of sobriety that can walk you through anything. Post often and let us know how it is going.

Thanks Surrendered19. I will take your advice and track the cravings as best I can. Well done on getting to day 25.
Last week a particularly stressful event happened and I gave in to the cravings. I know that it is not the way to handle stress and I need to find a more positive and healthy way of dealing with things.

Welcome to day 3, Mary. If you explore this site you will find a lot of resources available to help you. Simply posting here has a huge psychological effect that can help reduce cravings. Keep going and good luck!
Hi Mary! It's wonderful to have you with us.
When I first came here I'd been drinking for decades - I really didn't expect a forum to help me. I was so wrong. The encouragement & understanding relieved a lot of my anxiety. I never left - and it's been almost 12 yrs since I got sober. I hope you'll find it helps you too. You're doing a great thing for yourself.

Thanks Zebra!
It's day 4. Anxiety is bad today. I think I have an anxiety disorder that was covered up by drinking. Now, I'm facing the anxiety and it's not pleasant. Still determined to stay sober.

I'm staying with family for next couple of weeks. There is less temptation to drink here as everyone is sober.
Not looking forward to going back to my daily routine - home, work. There is a lot more stress there and it will be harder to avoid alcohol.
But for now I'm here. Feeling very low energy and weary today. It will probably pass.
