Whiskey down the sink

Had a bit too much last night through boredom more than anything else.

awoke up this morning and poured the remaining whiskey (Glenfiddich 15 year old) down the sink along with a can of Stella and 1 unfinished bottle of guiness.

Have 1 bottle of guiness left, I will drink that and commence the big quit.

Why pour the stella down the drain and drink the guiness? Pour that sucker down the drain too.

How did it feel to dump that down the sink?

My lastday/firstday I dumped some cheap whiskey down the sink. I saved one drink too because I thought I needed a goodbye drink. In retrospect, I didn't need it.

Why not dump all the alcohol and stop drinking right now?

I feel confused and lower than dirt today.

Dont know what to do about it, but I have no desire to swill any poison. It wont help.

Guess Im going to just feel down today, but at least Im not making it worse.

Sooner or later youre going to have to kick alcohol to the curb or it will consume you.

Might as well make it sooner.

Its NEVER EVER going to leave you satisfied and happy.

'I now want to be sober more than I want to drink. I am desperate to finally call an end to this relapse!'

I had assumed when you wrote the above, you had decided to quit. From now on, I hope your posts will be a diary of your recovery, rather than a diary of your drinking activity.

Boredom? I think you drank because you are an alcoholic in active addiction. I think you'll continue to drink if you don't accept that, and continue to do nothing to address it.

Good job- Do you know how many "last" drinks I kept to drink. Another lie to compromise one more reason to have another drink.
Glad you cut the cord. You can do this.

Reading this post about drinking because I thought I was bored made me crave a bit.

It was like a wave. I just took a big sip of my fizzy diet soda and the crave is gone again. Yay!

When I quit I was still getting the euphoric buzz.

But, my hell was ever increasing paranoid feelings and spatial disorienting feelings lasting and escalating until I medicated it with booze. I was in a death spiral.

So, now I have PTSD from that. I seem to use the PTSD to stay clean.

So, I am sort of lucky to have the mental scars to remind me.

Thanks.

I'm sorry you drank again Stable.

I think you're going to have to call in reinforcements on this one - fighting this on your own doesn't seem to be getting you anywhere?

What can you do other than drink when you are bored?
