Another day

Just checking in on day 37.

On the whole I’m feeling pretty good, some days I feel awesome! I had to go to my weekly probation meeting today as a result of a drink driving charge. I have to get my mum to drop me off as I lost my licence. On the way back she was saying the change she had seen in me in the last 6 weeks is amazing! This meant a lot to me as it’s been a rough ride some days.

Knowing it’s not just me benefiting from being sober is what I need to hear to give me the strength to carry on.

I’m feeling strong but still have occasional urges to have a drink although these are becoming less frequent. I’m happy to be sober though!

Thanks for reading.

Wow , what a nice feeling. And kudo's to your Mother for acknowledging your progress. Giving up alcohol does improve all factors of our demeanor, personality and motivation. I am sorry about your probation. Please keep moving forward. This will pass and it sounds like the incident was a catalyst for you to have a new and improved life.
I wish you the best on your sober journey and congrats on your 37 days.
I am on day 24 today. I am so grateful to be alcohol free for 24 sober days

Hi Apples,

Life can and does get better with Recovery. I'm not alcoholic; I am in 12 step recovery programs for other stuff.

I'm listening to this recording today, glad to be here, to be in recovery communities and to be human -- which also means I'm allowed room the recover in good timing, keep moving forward and enjoy this day.
