Day 5

Starting to feel better brain chemistry beginning to stabilise.

I find the allure of alcohol very strongly. After so many bad experiences and horrifying hangovers I am confused as to why I still want it.

What is is it about alcohol that makes it so tempting is it packaging? Marketing? Culture?

I think it is the neuron's in your brain that ignite at this very early stage of alcohol. Day 5 is great. Hopefully you feel much better physically. I hope you keep going. I am on day 8 . I hope to never have another day 1
take care of yourself. Nurture yourself. Can you have some ice cream?
I hope you stay sober you are worth it.

It IS strange, isn't it? After all the horrific things we've put our loved ones, our bodies through....the brain still wants to drink.
Can you go to a meeting, if you do AA? I always feel like that STOPS my brain in it's "just have one" tracks. Congratulations on Day 5!

Congratulations on five days.
The allure of alcohol, to me, is that I liked to get drunk.

Addiction is not known for its logic, Stable

The good news, as you know, is that that desire to drink will fade in time...hang in there

Hi Stable. You sound much better today. Remember how you felt 5 days ago when you start thinking that drinking is alluring. Reality vs Fantasy. For me, it was a long process of retraining my brain with regard to alcohol usage. One part of me wanted nothing to do with it and another part of me would try and sell me some story.

This video explains it pretty well:

True that! It seems impervious to logic as well.
