Memories of members passed

Hi everyone

Although i have only been here since July 2013, i have met many wonderful people here in SR who have significantly changed my life.

This thread is a happy thread in memory of those passed who will not be forgotton & the kind, selfless contribution they have made to our lives.

I didnt know CAROL but when i first arrived i heard so much about her .

Let's remember these beautiful people, or just pay our respects, or something significant they may have told you that you want to share.

I will start with

GRTGRAMPA
This wonderful man took me under his wing. He lost his 2 daughters who were my age to alcoholism. He helped me so much and guided me with no judgement, just love and kindness.

GILMER
what can i say.. A living angel loved by us all.

Snooz, if you or anyone else wants to share memories of a SR member who's passed just to let you know we've created a 'Memory Garden forum' for those members of SR forever in our hearts.

I've started a few threads but it's not my place to hog the forum

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/memory-garden/

I think of her too darling Snooz. She was such a firecracker hey? A huge heart in a tiny little package, and we will miss her always. s

A lovely SR member, KeyWeird, passed away sober not long after being diagnosed with aggressive cancer. She was funny and lived life on her own terms in Key West.

RIP, Key.

Venecia, I was just thinking of KeyWeird recently. She accepted her cancer was terminal and determined to live her life as normally as she could.

I will never forget Key. She never missed our Chat meetings. Key would join us from her hospital bed while receiving treatment. Always positive, supportive and cheery.

A beautiful, brave lady with a heart of gold.

I miss her.

RobbyRobot made a big impression on me when I first got here. He could put an interesting spin on things, but he was compassionate and resolute in his sobriety.

RIP Robby!

Me too, was really gutted to hear Robby had died. He had some great wisdom and passed some freely onto me which I am forever grateful for. His positive message of recovery really resonated with me. RIP Robby 🙏

The only one I had a chance to meet briefly was Gilmer/Kathy. She was/is indeed an angel. Some others recently remembered Bill Painter. I do remember some of his uplifting posts. Glad these people who have passed continue to inspire us! The spirit never dies.

I found this thread searching because I was also thinking of Key. She was such an inspiration. Taken too soon but not forgotten!
