Been away but still sober
Been away from the boards for a bit but just wanted to share that I recently celebrated 7 months of continuous sobriety. Still going strong, always learning more and more about living life on life's terms.
Thanks SR community, couldn't have done it without you!

Hey! Really glad you let us know. There have been a couple of people lately sharing "advance plans" and of course it made us wonder how you are. Glad to hear you are 7 mo sober. Keep going and let us know how you are.

Hey all! Haven't been on the board in FOREVER, but wanted to drop in and announce that I'm still sober (thank God!) and coming up on 2 years of continuous sobriety in less than one month. It's been life changing for sure, although life still comes at you (i.e. 2020) when you're sober. Thankfully, however, I have tried my best to stay humble, never forgetting where I came from, and above all relied upon and surrendered to God and His plan for my life. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and give an update.
For all those struggling to quit drinking, just know that IT IS POSSIBLE but you have to want it more than anything else in this world. Start whereever you'r at though, recovery doesn't require perfection.

Thanks everyone. @AAPJ that's kinda hard to answer via the computer. I'll just say that I used (and still use) a variety of supports and a common sense approach to staying sober (i.e. don't allow alcohol to be kept in the house, stuff like that). Prayer too, great support system, addictions counselor, and more. There's not one thing I could point to. AA in the first few months as well.
