So much to be thankful for today. I'm doing this! A lot already has improved in the short period that I have been sober. Thank you every one for being such a fantastic support system. I appreciate you all tremendously. Keep going! It gets better!

Way to go, Tweetie! A month in the books. Great job, and remember, you never have to drink again.

One month is a big deal. After committing to sobriety and having the beginnings of a plan in place, there are a few days of struggle, followed by some more days of bliss, and some disbelief that it could actually be happening. I don't know if there is an exact point where one realizes he can do it. There are probably a few days of transition where it starts to dawn on a person that he can beat this thing.

One month is still close to the surprise of the dawning. It never seemed possible, and here you are experiencing that which you thought could never happen. At one month, you know you can make it. And now instead of cravings, you have to switch tactics and start ignoring the head games, which aren't as bothersome as cravings, but still sneaky and dangerous and last for a much longer time.

But the worst is behind you. Now you can choose between the misery of addiction and the joy of freedom. If you are lucky, you can keep that choice for the rest of your life.

One month is fantastic. I like it hat DriGuy said, that the worst is behind you. You never have to go through that again.
